Akiko, the president’s daughter, is opposed to marrying Takeo and elopes. She takes care of Takeo, who suffers from a heart condition, and lives in an apartment complex, dipping into her savings, but she is happy. At that time, Akiko became friends with Tokie, who lived in the same housing complex. Tokie is in debt to her husband and her family’s finances are on the wane, and Akiko, too, has run out of her savings and is struggling to come up with the money to pay for Takeo’s treatment. Meanwhile, Tokie invites Akiko because there is a company that will lend money without interest.
